This is a referance from Wikipedia about the social realism movement.

The representation of characters within kidulthood is the hardships of growing up as a teenager in the deprived parts of London, we get to clearly see the environments they grew up in, A lot of language used within the trailer is typical to a ghetto talk, that would be used in some areas of London, most language is aggressive, and sometimes even swearing will be involved. Which clearly depicts what young teenagers communicate with eachother today. There is a huge variety of camera shots within the trailer mainly close up of shocking things such as violence to scare the viewer, close ups of funny moments between characters such as the male and female. Long shots have been used also to clearly show the way characters have dressed.

Mean girls trailer:

Mean girls is a high concept film, with a big budget and 'stars' such as Lindsay Lohan and Rachel Mcadams being the main two characters. It has the stereotypical conventions of any teen chick flick with a love interest that doesn't always go right and the 'it' gang. There are several sharp wipe transitions in the trailer making it quick pace and grabbing your attention. The voice over in the trailer is effective as it introduces the characters before you have seen the film creating an initial relationship and making the audience want to know more. The drum beats towards the end of the trailer create suspense and accompany the second long clips to build your anticipation. The text towards in the trailer is limited and only states the title, stars and when the film is being released, the colour pink for the text 'girls' and 'spring' relates to the fact it is a chick flick as it is stereotyped as a girly colour.

Introductory blog

In our Media production group there is Jordene, Becca and Demelza.
- Becca
I'm interested in learning detail about different sub genres, and deciding which one is suitable for our production. I'm also looking forward to analysing similar media texts, so we can look at similar codes and conventions and what is expected with in our media project. I will also be interested in finding out about the audience we are targeting, also finding out what they would most like to see in our trailer.
- Jordene
My main interest for the production is the research about different trailers and then the scripting and planning. My tasks within the group will be things such as reader profile, evaluation of front cover, audience research, schedules, location and the general scripting. These tasks mean I will be able to apply knowledge from initial research to our trailer and make sure the needs of our target audience are met.
- Demelza
I'm looking forward to the production work and using the camera to create from our imagination. My main task is to create the posters for the trailer, I will be doing the design element of the work i.e the storyboard, taking pictures and templates.
